Confini / Borders - 11 Manifesti A3 / 11 Poster A3

Nationalisms have often made an unappropriate transfer of ideas from the purely scientific field to the sociological and political one, in order to justify their ideologies. Time ago, the supporters of the idea of race passed it from science to ideology, contributing in reinforcing a paradigm which had nothing to do with science itself, I want to follow the opposite path: taking back a phylosophical and political structure, such as the idea of border, to its proof of pure empiric observation. The scientific method is the path followed by science to reach a knowledge of objective reality which should be reliable, verifiable and sharable. It consists mainly in the collection of data which are measurable through observation and experimentation. From the data collected through observation, a series of hypothesis are formulated, which then must be subjected to the examination of the experiment in order to test its effectiveness. What does happen if we face the idea of border reversing the traditional approach, which assumes as an objective data theorical structures due to an abstract elaboration? What does happen if the epistemology (epistemology is the method to reach a scientific knowledge) of the idea of border is challenged and a radically different approach is chosen to define it? What does happen if the deductive method, which procedes from the universal to the particular, is replaced by the inductive method, which starts from the single cases to establish a universal law? This process, applied to the idea of border, can give place to a new theoric reflection on nature, on its origins, on its functionality up to the extreme consequence of giving it back to the observer in its bare and simple perception of the physical matter. The border is earth, stones, water, grass but nothing, in its empirical observation, suggests us that it can exists beyond its abstract projection.
